حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ
خَرَجْتُ حَاجًّا فَمَرَرْتُ بِقَوْمٍ يُصَلُّونَ عِنْدَ مَسْجِدٍ يَقُولُونَ هَذِهِ شَجَرَةُ بَيْعَةِ الرِّضْوَانِ حِينَ بَايَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ «كَانَ فِيمَنْ بَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ» قَالَ فَلَمَّا خَرَجْنَا مِنَ الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ نَسِينَاهَا فَلَمْ نَقْدِرْ عَلَيْهَا قَالَ سَعِيدٌ «فَإِنْ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَعْلَمُوهَا وَعَلِمْتُمُوهَا فَأَنْتُمْ أَعْلَمُ»

✧ I went out for Hajj and passed by people praying at a mosque, saying: This is the tree of the pledge of Ridwan, when the Messenger of God ﷺ accepted the pledge. I went to Said b. al-Musayyib and informed him. He said: My father told me that he was among those who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God ﷺ under the tree. He said: When we went out the following year, we forgot it and could not locate it. Said said: “If the companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ did not know it, and you know it, then you are more knowledgeable.”
