حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الشِّبَامِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا أَبِي عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَهُوَ مُغْضَبٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا لَنَا وَلِقُرَيْشٍ؟ إِذَا تَلَاقَوْا بَيْنَهُمْ تَلَاقَوْا بِوُجُوهٍ مُبَشِّرَةٍ وَإِذَا لَقُونَا لَقُونَا بِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ فَغَضِبَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ حَتَّى احْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ قَالَ «لَا يَدْخُلُ قَلْبَ رَجُلٍ الْإِيمَانُ حَتَّى يُحِبَّكُمْ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ عَمُّ الرَّجُلِ صِنْوُ أَبِيهِ»

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ when al-'Abbas b. 'Abd al-Muttalib entered upon him while angry. He said: “O Messenger of Allah, what is it between us and Quraysh? When they meet each other, they meet with cheerful faces, but when they meet us, they meet us with something other than that.” The Prophet ﷺ became angry until his face turned red, then said: “Faith will not enter the heart of a man until he loves you for the sake of Allah and His Messenger. A man's paternal uncle is of the same stock as his father.”
