حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ رُؤْبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْفٍ الْجُرَشِيِّ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أُوتِيتُ الْكِتَابَ وَمَا يَعْدِلُهُ يُوشِكُ شَبْعَانٌ عَلَى أَرِيكَتِهِ يَقُولُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ هَذَا الْكِتَابُ فَمَا كَانَ فِيهِ مِنْ حَلَالٍ أَحْلَلْنَاهُ وَمَا كَانَ فِيهِ مِنْ حَرَامٍ حَرَّمْنَاهُ أَلَا وَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ لَا يَحِلُّ ذُو نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ وَلَا الْحُمُرُ الْأَهْلِيَّةُ وَلَا اللُّقَطَةُ مِنَ الْمُعَاهِدِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَغْنِيَ عَنْهَا وَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ ضَافَ قَوْمًا وَلَمْ يَقْرُوهُ فَعَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَغْصِبَهُمْ بِمِثْلِ قِرَاهُ

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I was given the Book and what equals it. Soon a satiated man reclining on his couch will say: 'Between us and you is this Book; whatever we find in it of lawful we declare lawful, and whatever we find in it of unlawful we declare unlawful.' Indeed, it is not so. The fanged beasts of prey are not lawful, nor domestic donkeys, nor the lost property of a person under covenant unless he has no need of it. And any man who is a guest of a people and they do not offer him hospitality, it is his right to seize from them the equivalent of his hospitality.”
