حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَطَّارُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ

لَقِيتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ بِالسُّوقِ فَسَأَلْتُ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ أَيْنَ يُرِيدُ؟ قَالُوا يَخُطُّ لِقَوْمِكَ مَسْجِدًا فَرَجَعْتُ فَإِذَا قَوْمِي قِيَامٌ فَقُلْتُ مَا لَكُمْ؟ قَالُوا «خَطَّ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَسْجِدًا وغَرَزَ فِي الْقِبْلَةِ خَشَبَةً أَقَامَهَا فِيهَا»

✧ I met the Prophet ﷺ among his Companions in the market, and I asked the Companions of the Messenger of Allah where he was heading. They said, “He is marking out a mosque for your people.” So I returned, and there were my people standing. I said, “What is the matter with you?” They said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ marked out a mosque for us and fixed a piece of wood in the qiblah, standing it in it.”
