حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ جَاءَنَا الْمِقْدَادُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ لِحَاجَةٍ لَهُ فَقُلْنَا اجْلِسْ عَافَاكَ اللهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُبَ حَاجَتَكَ قَالَ
الْعَجَبُ مِنْ قَوْمٍ مَرَرْتُ بِهِمْ آنِفًا يَتَمَنَّوْنَ الْفِتْنَةَ يَزْعُمُونَ لَيَبْتَلِيهِمُ اللهُ فِيهَا بِمَا ابْتَلَى رَسُولَهُ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابَهُ وَأَيْمُ اللهِ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ السَّعِيدَ لَمَنْ جُنِّبَ الْفِتَنَ يُرَدِّدُهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَإِنِ ابْتُلِيَ فَصَبَرَ»

✧ How amazing are people whom I passed by just now, wishing for tribulation, claiming that Allah would test them in it as He tested His Messenger ﷺ and his companions. By Allah, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The fortunate one is he who is kept away from tribulations," repeating it three times, "and if he is tested, he remains patient."
