حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ ابْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ عَنْ أَبِيه قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مِنَ الْغَيْرَةِ مَا يُحِبُّ اللهُ وَمِنْهَا مَا يُبْغِضُ اللهُ فَأَمَّا مَا يُحِبُّ اللهُ مِنَ الْغَيْرَةِ فَالْغَيْرَةُ فِي الرِّيبَةِ وَأَمَّا الْغَيْرَةُ الَّتِي يُبْغِضُ اللهُ فَالْغَيْرَةُ فِي غَيْرِ رِيبَةٍ وَأَمَّا الْخُيَلَاءُ الَّتِي يُحِبُّ اللهُ فَاخْتِيَالُ الرَّجُلِ بِنَفْسِهِ عِنْدَ الْقِتَالِ وَأَمَّا الْخُيَلَاءُ الَّتِي يُبْغِضُ اللهُ فَاخْتِيَالُ الرَّجُلِ فِي الْبَغْيِ وَالْفُجُورِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Of jealousy, there is what Allah loves and of it what Allah hates. As for what Allah loves of jealousy, it is jealousy in suspicion; and as for the jealousy that Allah hates, it is jealousy without suspicion. And as for the pride that Allah loves, it is a man’s showing off of himself at the time of battle; and as for the pride that Allah hates, it is a man’s showing off in wrongdoing and wickedness.”
