حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ ثنا أَبِي قَالَا ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ
«كُنْتُ رَافِعًا أَغْصَانَ الشَّجَرَةِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ» فَبَايَعَ النَّاسُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا يَفِرُّوا وَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَلْفٌ وَأَرْبَعُمِائَةٍ
Translation

✧ "I was lifting the branches of the tree from the Messenger of God ﷺ." The people pledged allegiance that they would not flee, and they were then one thousand four hundred.
