حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ثنا زَبَّانُ بْنُ فَايِدٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ أَيُّ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ أَعْظَمُ أَجْرًا؟ قَالَ «أَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلَّهِ ذِكْرًا» قَالَ وَأَيُّ الصَّائِمِينَ أَعْظَمُ لِلَّهِ أَجْرًا؟ قَالَ «أَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلَّهِ ذِكْرًا» ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الصَّلَاةَ وَالزَّكَاةَ وَالْحَجَّ وَالصَّدَقَةَ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلَّهِ ذِكْرًا» فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ لِعُمَرَ ؓ يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ ذَهَبَ الذَّاكِرُونَ اللهَ بِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَجَلْ»

✧ From the Messenger of God ﷺ, that a man asked him: "Which of the mujahidin has the greatest reward?" He said: "The one of them who remembers God the most." He said: "And which of the fasting people has the greatest reward with God?" He said: "The one of them who remembers God the most." Then he mentioned prayer, zakat, Hajj, and charity, and in all of that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "The one of them who remembers God the most." Then Abu Bakr al-Siddiq said to Umar ؓ: "O Abu Hafs, those who remember God have gone away with every good." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Indeed."
