حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَا ثنا وَكِيعٌ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْزُوقٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَإِذَا حَلْقَةٌ فِيهَا كُهُولٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَإِذَا شَابٌّ فِيهِمْ أَكْحَلُ الْعَيْنِ بَرَّاقُ الثَّنَايَا كُلَّمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِي شَيْءٍ يَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى الْفَتَى فَقُلْتُ لِجَلِيسِي مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الْمُتَحَابُّونَ فِي اللهِ عَلَى مَنَابِرَ مِنْ نُورٍ فِي ظِلِّ عَرْشِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّهُ»

✧ I came to the mosque of Damascus and there was a group of companions of Muhammad ﷺ, and among them was a young man with intense black eyes and a radiant face. Whenever they disagreed about something, they would refer it to the young man. So, I asked my companion, "Who is this?" He said, "This is Mu'adh ibn Jabal." He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Those who love each other for the sake of Allah will be upon pulpits of light, under the shade of the Throne of the Most Merciful on a day when there is no shade except His shade.'"
