حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِفَتًى بَرَّاقِ الثَّنَايَا طَوِيلِ الصَّمْتِ وَإِذَا النَّاسُ مَعَهُ إِذَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِي شَيْءٍ أَسْنَدُوهُ إِلَيْهِ وَصَدَرُوا مِنْ رَأْيِهِ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ فَقِيلَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْغَدُ هَجَّرْتُ فَوَجَدْتُهُ قَدْ سَبَقَنِي بِالتَّهْجِيرِ وَوَجَدْتُهُ يُصَلِّي فَانْتَظَرْتُهُ حَتَّى قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ ثُمَّ جِئْتُهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ وَجْهِهِ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ لِلَّهِ فَقَالَ آللَّهِ؟ فَقُلْتُ آللَّهِ قَالَ آللَّهِ؟ فَقُلْتُ آللَّهِ فَقَالَ آللَّهِ؟ فَقُلْتُ آللَّهِ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ بِحُبْوَةِ رِدَائِي فَجَذَبَنِي إِلَيْهِ وَقَالَ أَبْشِرْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ وَجَبَتْ مَحَبَّتِي لِلْمُتَحَابِّينَ فِيَّ وَالْمُتَجَالِسِينَ فِيَّ وَالْمُتَبَاذِلِينَ فِيَّ وَالْمُتَزَاوِرِينَ فِيَّ

✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us from Malik, from Abu Hazim b. Dinar, from Abu Idris al-Khawlani that he said: I entered the mosque of Damascus and saw a young man with bright front teeth, long of silence, and the people were with him; when they differed about something they referred it to him and issued from his opinion. I asked about him and was told, 'Mu'adh b. Jabal.' The next day I went early and found that he had preceded me in going early, and I found him praying. I waited for him until he finished his prayer, then I came to him from in front and greeted him and said, 'By Allah, I love you for Allah.' He said, 'By Allah?' I said, 'By Allah.' He said, 'By Allah?' I said, 'By Allah.' He said, 'By Allah?' I said, 'By Allah.' He said: Then he took hold of the knot of my cloak and pulled me to him and said, 'Rejoice, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Allah said, "My love has become incumbent for those who love one another for My sake, and those who sit together for My sake, and those who give to one another for My sake, and those who visit one another for My sake."'
