✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Gather in your mosques, and when a group gathers, let them inform me.' We were the first of the people to gather, so we came to him and informed him. He came walking with us until he sat with us. A speaker among us spoke and said: 'Praise be to God, besides whose praise there is no stopping point, and beyond whom there is no passage,' or something like this. The Messenger of God ﷺ became angry and stood up. We blamed one another and said: 'God favored us that he came to us first of the people, and he did such and such.' We came to him and found him in the mosque of Banu so-and-so. We spoke to him, and he came back with us until he sat in his previous place, or near it. Then he said: 'Indeed, praise be to God. Whatever He wills, He places before Him, and whatever He wills, He places behind Him. Indeed, some eloquence is magic.' Then he turned to us, spoke to us, commanded us, and taught us.
