حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ثنا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جُنْدُبِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ

شَهِدْتُ أَضْحًى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الصَّلَاةَ رَأَى غَنَمًا قَدْ ذُبِحَتْ فَقَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَلْيَذْبَحْ شَاةٍ مَكَانَهَا وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ ذَبَحَ فَلْيَذْبَحْ بِاسْمِ اللهِ»

✧ I witnessed a sacrifice with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He prayed with the people, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had completed the prayer, he saw sheep that had been slaughtered. He said: “Whoever slaughtered before the prayer should slaughter a sheep in its place, and whoever has not slaughtered should slaughter in the name of Allah.”
