حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا زُهَيْرٌ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي جُنْدُبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ

شَهِدْتُ الْأَضْحَى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يُعِدْ أَنْ صَلَّى وَفَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ إِذَا هُوَ يَرَى لَحْمَ أَضْحًى قَدْ ذُبِحَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْرُغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ ذَبَحَ أُضْحِيَّتَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَلْيَذْبَحْ مَكَانَهَا وَمَنْ لَمْ يَذْبَحْ فَلْيَذْبَحْ بِاسْمِ اللهِ»

✧ I witnessed the sacrifice with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He did no more than pray, and when he had finished his prayer, he saw meat of sacrifices that had been slaughtered before he finished his prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever slaughtered his sacrifice before praying should slaughter another in its place, and whoever has not slaughtered should slaughter in the name of Allah.”
