حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا نَأْتِي مِنْ عَوْرَاتِنَا وَمَا نَذَرُ؟ قَالَ «احْفَظْ عَوْرَتَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ زَوْجِكَ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ» قُلْتُ فَإِذَا كُنَّا بَعْضُنَا فِي بَعْضٍ؟ قَالَ «احْفَظْ عَوْرَتَكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ» قَالَ فَإِذَا كُنَّا فِي خَلَاءٍ؟ قَالَ «اللهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُسْتَحْيَى مِنْهُ»

✧ I said: O Messenger of Allah, what may we expose of our private areas and what may we leave? He said: “Guard your private area except from your wife and those whom your right hand possesses.” I said: What if we are among one another? He said: “Guard your private area as much as you can.” He said: What if we are in seclusion? He said: “Allah is more deserving that one be shy before Him.”
