حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جُنْدُبًا وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جُنْدُبِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ §احْتَبَسَ جِبْرِيلُ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ بَنَاتِ عَمِّهِ مَا أَرَى صَاحِبَكَ إِلَّا قَدْ قَلَاكَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ {وَالضُّحَى وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَى مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَى} وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَرْزُوقٍ

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ: One of his paternal cousins' daughters said, "I do not think your companion has anything but that he has hated you." So it was revealed: {By the morning brightness and by the night when it covers with darkness, your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He detested you}. The wording is from the hadith of Amr b. Marzuq.
