حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدَةَ ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانٍ عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ أَبَرُّ؟ قَالَ «أُمَّكَ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ أُمَّكَ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ أُمَّكَ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «أَبَاكَ ثُمَّ الْأَقْرَبَ فَالْأَقْرَبَ»

✧ I said: O Messenger of Allah, whom should I treat with the utmost devotion? He said: "Your mother." I said: Then whom? He said: "Then your mother." I said: Then whom? He said: "Then your mother." I said: Then whom? He said: "Your father, then the nearest relative, then the next nearest."
