حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الصَّبَّاحُ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ الْمُقْعَدُ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ السُّلَمِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ
قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا قَوْمٌ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِالْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَدْ جَاءَ بِالْإِسْلَامِ وَإِنَّ رِجَالًا مِنَّا يَخُطُّونَ فَقَالَ «قَدْ كَانَ نَبِيٌّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ يَخُطُّ فَمَنْ وَافَقَ خَطَّهُ فَذَاكَ» قَالَ وَإِنَّ مِنَّا رِجَالًا يَتَطَيَّرُونَ قَالَ «ذَاكَ شَيْءٌ يَجِدُونَهُ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ وَلَكِنْ لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ» قُلْتُ وَمِنَّا رِجَالٌ يَأْتُونَ الْكُهَّانَ قَالَ «فَلَا تَأْتُوهُمْ»

✧ He said: I said: O Messenger of God, we are a people who have only recently left the pre-Islamic era, and God ﷻ has brought Islam, and there are men among us who draw lines. He said: "A prophet among the prophets used to draw lines, so whoever's line coincides with his, that is it." He said: And among us are men who practice tiyara. He said: "That is something they find in their chests, but it will not harm them." I said: And among us are men who go to soothsayers. He said: "Do not go to them."
