✧ The Fighting of Abu Maslamah, reported by Muawiyah

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا شَبَابٌ الْعُصْفُرِيُّ ثنا عَوْنُ بْنُ كَهْمَسٍ ثنا مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ مُحَارِبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَتَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ إِلَى زِيَادٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْعَدُوَّ لَا يَظْهَرُ عَلَى قَوْمٍ إِذَا هُمْ» أَوْ قَالَ «رَأَيْتُهُمْ مَعَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي بَكْرِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The enemy will not prevail over a people if they—” or he said, “I saw them with a man from Banū Bakr b. Wā’il.”
