حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَيَّاضٍ الزِّمَّانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ثنا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ أَنَّ أَبَا شَيْخٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَخِيهِ حِمَّانَ

أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ» نَهَى عَنْ لِبْسِ الذَّهَبِ إِلَّا مُقَطَّعًا؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ» قَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ رُكُوبِ جُلُودِ النِّمَارِ؟» قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ»

✧ He witnessed Mu‘āwiyah while some people from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ were with him. He said, “I adjure you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing gold except in small pieces?” They said, “O Allah, yes.” He said, “And I bear witness.” He said, “I adjure you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade riding on leopard skins?” They said, “O Allah, yes.” He said, “And I bear witness.”
