حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو شَيْخٍ الْهُنَائِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي حِمَّانُ قَالَ

حَجَّ مُعَاوِيَةُ فَدَعَا نَفَرًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَلَمْ تَعَلَّمُوا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ» نَهَى عَنِ الذَّهَبِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ» قَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ صُفَفِ الْحَرِيرِ؟» قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنْ صُفَفِ النُّمُورِ؟» قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ»

✧ Mu‘āwiyah performed Hajj and summoned a group of the Anṣār. He said, “I adjure you by Allah, did you not learn that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade gold?” They said, “O Allah, yes.” He said, “And I bear witness.” He said, “I adjure you by Allah, did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid silk saddle cloths?” They said, “O Allah, yes.” He said, “I adjure you by Allah, did you not hear that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade leopard saddle cloths?” They said, “O Allah, yes.” He said, “And I bear witness.”
