حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُوسَى السُّدِّيُّ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَعَلِيَّ بُرْدَتَانِ أَوْ شَمْلَانِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ «فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ نِعْمَةُ اللهِ» فَغَدَوْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ

Translation

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing two cloaks or two wraps. He said, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes, of every kind of wealth." He said, "Then let the favor of Allah be seen on you." The next morning I went to him wearing a red fine garment.
