✧ A bedouin came, made his riding camel kneel and hobbled it, then prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the salam, he went to his riding camel, untied its hobble, mounted it, then called out: “O Allah, have mercy on me and Muhammad, and do not associate anyone with us in Your mercy.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “What do you say? Is he more astray, or his camel? He has restricted a vast mercy. Allah ﷻ created one hundred mercies, then sent down one mercy by which creatures show compassion to one another—their jinn, their humans, and their beasts—and with Him are ninety-nine. Do you say he is more astray, or his camel?”
