حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ
«أَبُو الْعَاصِ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ زَوْجُ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَابْنُ خَالَتِهَا أُمُّهُ هَالَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدِ بْنِ أَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ قُصَيٍّ أُخْتُ خَدِيجَةِ بِنْتِ خُوَيْلِدٍ لِأَبِيهَا وَأُمُّهَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ زَائِدَةَ وَهُوَ الْأَصَمُّ بْنُ جُنْدُبِ بْنِ هَرِمِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ بْنِ حُجْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ بْنِ مَعِيصِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ وَيُقَالُ اسْمُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ مُهْشَمٌ وَكَانَ يُسَمَّى جِرْو الْبَطْحَاءِ» قَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا «اسْمُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ لَقِيطٌ» قَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنْ أبِيهِ قَالَ «اسْمُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ الْقَاسِمُ وَذَلِكَ الثَّبْتُ فِي اسْمِهِ وَتُوُفِّيَ أَبُو الْعَاصِ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ فِي ذِي الْحِجَّةِ سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ»

✧ Abu al-‘As b. al-Rabi‘ was the husband of the daughter of the Messenger of God ﷺ and the son of her maternal aunt. His mother was Hala bt. Khuwaylid b. Asad b. ‘Abd al-‘Uzza b. Qusayy, the sister of Khadija bt. Khuwaylid on her father's side, and her mother was Fatima bt. Za'ida. He is al-Asamm b. Jundub b. Harim b. Rawaha b. Hujr b. ‘Abd b. Ma‘is b. ‘Amir b. Lu'ayy. It is said that the name of Abu al-‘As b. al-Rabi‘ was Mihsham, and he was called Jirw al-Batha'. Al-Zubayr said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan and Yahya b. Muhammad narrated to me, saying: "The name of Abu al-‘As b. al-Rabi‘ was Laqit." Al-Zubayr said: Muhammad b. al-Dahhak narrated to me from his father, saying: "The name of Abu al-‘As b. al-Rabi‘ was al-Qasim, and that is the established name. Abu al-‘As b. al-Rabi‘ died in Dhu al-Hijja in the year twelve."
