حَدَّثَنَا سَلَامَةُ بْنُ نَاهِضٍ الْمَقْدِسِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زُرَارَةَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ الْأَشْدَقِ عَنْ كُلَيْبِ بْنِ حَزْنٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَا قَوْمُ» اطْلُبُوا الْجَنَّةَ جَهْدَكُمْ وَاهْرَبُوا مِنَ النَّارِ جَهْدَكُمْ فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَا يَنَامُ طَالِبُهَا وَإِنَّ النَّارَ لَا يَنَامُ هَارِبُهَا أَلَا إِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ الْيَوْمَ مُحَفَّفَةٌ بِالْمَكَارِهِ وَإِنَّ الدُّنْيَا مُحَفَّفَةٌ بِالشَّهَوَاتِ

Translation

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: "O people, seek Paradise with all your effort and flee from the Fire with all your effort, for Paradise's seeker does not sleep, and the Fire's fleer does not sleep. Indeed, the Hereafter today is surrounded by hardships, and this world is surrounded by desires."
