حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا أَبُو شِهَابٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَة قَالَ

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ فِتْنَةً فَقَرَّبَهَا فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ مُقَنَّعٌ فَقَالَ «هَذَا يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى الْحَقِّ» فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَخَذْتُ بِضَبْعَيْهِ فَأَقْبَلْتُ بِوَجْهِهِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ when he mentioned a tribulation and brought it near. A veiled man passed by, and he said: "This one, on that day, will be upon the truth." I stood up and took hold of his upper arms, and I turned his face toward the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, this one?" He said: "Yes." And it was 'Uthman b. 'Affan.
