حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ خُلِّيٍّ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا سَلَمَةُ الْعَوْصِيُّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَة

أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ هَذَا السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ قَدْ عَرَفْنَاهُ فَكَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ قُولُوا اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ «» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِي الْحَدِيثِ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى

Translation

✧ He said to the Prophet, "This is the peace upon you, we know it, so how do we pray upon you?" He said, "Say, 'O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are praiseworthy, glorious. And bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are praiseworthy, glorious.' " And he didn't mention in the hadith Abdul Rahman ibn Abi Layla.
