حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْبَخْتَرِيُّ الطَّائِيُّ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ لَيْلَةً كَعْبًا وَهُوَ أَحَدُ الثَّلَاثَةِ الَّذِينَ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ يَقُولُ «لَمَّا بُشِّرْتُ بِالتَّوْبَةِ أَقْبَلَتُ أُرِيدُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَطَفِقَ النَّاسُ يَتَلَقَّوْنَنِي فَوْجًا فَوْجًا يُهَنِّئُونَنِي بِتَوْبَةِ اللهِ عَلَيَّ حَتَّى إِذَا دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ قَامَ إِلَيَّ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ حَتَّى صَافَحَنِي»

✧ That he heard one night Ka'b, who was one of the three whose repentance was accepted, say: When I was given the good news of repentance, I set out intending to go to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the people began to meet me in group after group, congratulating me on God's acceptance of my repentance, until when I entered the mosque, Talha b. 'Ubayd Allah rose toward me and shook my hand.
