حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَكَانَ أَحَدَ الثَّلَاثَةِ الَّذِينَ تَخَلَّفُوا ثُمَّ تَابَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنْ تَوْبَتِي أَنْ لَا أُحَدِّثَ إِلَّا صِدْقًا وَأَنْ أَنْخَلِعَ مِنْ جَمِيعِ مَالِي صَدَقَةً إِلَى اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ بَعْضَ مَالِكَ»

✧ To the Prophet ﷺ—and he was one of the three who stayed behind and then God accepted their repentance—Ka'b said to the Prophet ﷺ: Part of my repentance is that I will speak nothing but truth and that I divest myself of all my wealth as charity to God and His Messenger. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Keep some of your wealth."
