حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ?

عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ حِينَ تَابَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّمَا أَنْجَانِيَ اللهُ بِالصِّدْقِ وَإِنَّ مِنْ تَوْبَتِي أَنْ لَا أُحَدِّثَ كَذِبًا وَأَنْ أَتَخَلَّى مِنْ مَالِي صَدَقَةً لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ بَعْضَ مَالِكَ فَإِنَّهُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ» قَالَ كَعْبٌ فَإِنِّي أُمْسِكُ سَهْمِي مِنْ خَيْبَرَ

✧ From Ka'b b. Malik: When God accepted his repentance, he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, God saved me only through truthfulness, and part of my repentance is that I will never speak a lie and that I divest myself of my wealth as charity to God and His Messenger. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Keep some of your wealth, for it is better for you." Ka'b said: Then I will keep my share of Khaybar.
