حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ ثنا أَبِي ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنْقَزِيُّ ثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ

مَا كَانَ شَيْءٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ أَلَا إِنَّهُ كَانَ يُقَلَّسُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ وَالتَّقْلِيسُ اللَّعِبُ

Translation

✧ There was nothing in the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ except that I saw it. Indeed, singing and clapping was performed for the Messenger of God ﷺ on the day of Eid, and taqlīs means jesting and playing.
