حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ سَأَلْتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَالْفَضْلُ رَدِيفُهُ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ إِنْ شَدُّوهُ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ لَمْ يَسْتَمْسِكْ أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ حُجِّي عَنْهُ»

✧ A woman from Khathʿam asked the Prophet ﷺ while al-Faḍl was riding behind him. She said: "O Messenger of Allah, the obligation of Allah upon His servants concerning Hajj has overtaken my father, an old man. If they bind him on his mount, he cannot hold himself upright. Should I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He said: "Yes, perform Hajj on his behalf."
