✧ I mentioned Qays in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ said: "May Allah have mercy on Qays; may Allah have mercy on Qays." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, you invoke mercy on Qays?" He said: "Yes, for he followed the religion of my forefather Isma'il b. Ibrahim, the close friend of Allah. O Qays, protect Yemen! O Yemen, protect Qays! Qays are the horsemen of Allah on earth. By Him in whose hand is my soul, a time will come upon people when this religion has no helper other than Qays. Allah, exalted is He, has horsemen from the people of heaven who are marked, and horsemen from the people of earth who are taught. The horsemen of Allah from the people of earth are Qays. Qays is but an egg that split from us, the people of the House. Qays is the harm of Allah on earth—meaning the lion of Allah."
