حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا حَشْرَجُ بْنُ نُبَاتَةَ ثنا أَبُو نُصَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ قَالَ
خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى دَخَلَ حَائِطًا لِبَعْضِ الْأَنْصَارِ وَإِذَا هُوَ يَسْنُو فِيهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا تَجْعَلُ لِي إِذَا رَوَيْتُ حَائِطَكَ هَذَا؟» قَالَ أَنِّي أَجْهَدُ أَنْ أَرْوِيَهُ فَمَا أُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَجْعَلُ لِي مِائَةَ تَمْرَةٍ اخْتَارُهَا مِنْ تَمْرِكَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْغَرْبَ فَمَا لَبِثَ أَنْ رَوَاهُ حَتَّى قَالَ الرَّجُلُ غَرِقَتْ عَلَيَّ حَائِطِي فَاخْتَارَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ تَمْرِهِ مِائَةَ تَمْرَةٍ فَأَكَلَ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ حَتَّى شَبِعُوا ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ مِائَةَ تَمْرَةٍ كَمَا أَخَذَهَا مِنْهُ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out until he entered an orchard belonging to one of the Ansar, and he was drawing water in it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "What will you give me if I water your orchard?" He said, "I strive to water it, but I cannot do that." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Will you give me one hundred dates that I choose from your dates?" He said, "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the bucket, and it was not long before he watered it, until the man said, "My orchard has been flooded." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ chose one hundred dates from his dates, and he and his companions ate until they were full, then he returned to him one hundred dates as he had taken from him.
