حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ الْحِسَابِ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا عُرِضَ عَلِيَّ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ فَكَانَ يَجِيءُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ إِلَّا الرَّجُلُ وَيَجِيءُ النَّبِيُّ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ إِلَّا الرَّجُلَانِ وَيَجِيءُ النَّبِيُّ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ إِلَّا النَّفْرُ الْيَسِيرُ كَذَلِكَ ثُمَّ نَظَرْتُ فَرَأَيْتُ سَوَادًا كَثِيرًا فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُمْ أُمَّتِي فَلَمَّا دَنَوْا فَإِذَا هُمْ قَوْمُ مُوسَى ثُمَّ قِيلَ لِي انْظُرْ فَنَظَرْتُ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ؟ قَالَ فَقِيلَ هَؤُلَاءِ أُمَّتُكَ فَفَرِحْتُ لِذَلِكَ وَاسْتَبْشَرْتُ ثُمَّ قِيلَ انْظُرْ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا سَوَادٌ كَثِيرٌ أَيْضًا فَقِيلَ هَؤُلَاءِ أُمَّتُكَ فَفَرِحْتُ وَاسْتَبْشَرْتُ فَقِيلَ لِي إِنَّ مَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ وَلَا عَذَابٍ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ السَّبْعُونَ الْأَلْفَ؟ فَأَجْمَعَ رَأْيِهِمْ عَلَى أَنَّهُ مَنْ وُلِدَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَلَمْ يُدْرِكْ شَيْئًا مِنْ أَمْرِ الشِّرْكِ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ «هُمُ الَّذِينَ لَا يَكْتَوُونَ وَلَا يَسْتَرْقُونَ وَلَا يَتَطَيَّرُونَ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ» فَقَامَ عُكَّاشَةُ فَقَالَ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْهُمْ» فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ «سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said one day: “The prophets were presented to me. A prophet would come with no one but one man, and a prophet would come with no one but two men, and a prophet would come with no one but a small group. Then I looked and saw a great multitude, and I thought they were my community. When they drew near, they were the people of Musa. Then it was said to me: 'Look.' I looked and said: 'Who are these?' It was said: 'These are your community.' I rejoiced and was glad. Then it was said: 'Look.' I looked and saw another great multitude. It was said: 'These are your community.' I rejoiced and was glad. Then it was said to me: 'With these are seventy thousand of your community who will enter Paradise without reckoning or punishment.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered, and the Muslims said: 'Who are these seventy thousand?' They agreed that they were those who were born in Islam and had not known anything of shirk. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out while we were on that, and he said: “They are those who do not cauterize, do not seek ruqyah, do not practice augury from birds, and upon their Lord they rely.” Then ʿUkkashah stood and said: “Invoke Allah to make me one of them.” He said: “O Allah, make him one of them.” Then another man stood and said: “O Messenger of Allah, invoke Allah to make me one of them.” He said: “ʿUkkashah has preceded you to it.”
