حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْحَنَّاطُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْأَسَدِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ سَعْدٍ الْعَبْسِيِّ عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَا أَخْشَى عَلَى قُرَيْشٍ إِلَّا أَنْفُسَهَا» قُلْتُ وَمَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ «أَشِحَّةٌ بَجَرَةٌ إِنْ طَالَ بِكَ عُمْرٌ رَأَيْتَهُمْ أَشِحَّةً بَجَرَةَ النَّاسِ حَتَّى تَرَى النَّاسَ بَيْنَهُمْ كَالْغَنَمِ بَيْنَ الْحَوْضَيْنِ مَرَّةً إِلَى هَذَا وَمَرَّةً هَذَا»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “Indeed, I do not fear for Quraysh except their own selves.” I said: “And what is that?” He said: “Greedy and arrogant. If you live long, you will see them as the most greedy and arrogant of people, until you see the people among them like sheep between two watering-troughs: once to this one and once to that one.”
