حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ثَلَاثِ رَكَعَاتٍ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ فَدَخَلَ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْخِرْبَاقُ كَانَ طَوِيلَ الْيَدَيْنِ قَالَ قَصَرْتَ الصَّلَاةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَخَرَجَ مُغْضَبًا يَجُرُّ رِدَاءَهُ فَقَالَ «أَصَدَقَ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى تِلْكَ الرَّكْعَةَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ concluded the prayer with salam after three rakʿahs of ʿAsr, then entered his room. A man called al-Khirbaq, who had long arms, stood up to him and said: ‘Did you shorten the prayer, O Messenger of Allah?’ He came out angry, dragging his cloak, and said: ‘Is he telling the truth?’ They said: ‘Yes.’ So he stood and prayed that rakʿah.
