حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبُّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ} وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ وَقَدْ نَعَسَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ وَتَفَرَّقَ بَعْضُهُمْ فَرَفَعَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَوْتَهُ فَاجْتَمَعُوا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَقَالُوا إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ قَدْ قَامَتْ فَقَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ «أَتَدْرُونَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ ذَلِكُمْ؟» قَالُوا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ ذَلِكَ حِينَ اللهُ ﷻ يَقُولُ لِآدَمَ قُمْ يَا آدَمُ فَابْعَثْ بَعْثَ النَّارِ قَالَ يَقُولُ وَمَا بَعْثُ النَّارِ؟ قَالَ ابْعَثْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ تِسْعَمِائةٍ وَتِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَوَاحِدًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فَأَبْلَسَ الْقَوْمُ فَمَا مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ يُبْدِي عَنْ وَاضِحَةٍ فَقَالَ «اعْمَلُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا فَمَا أَنْتُمْ فِي النَّاسِ إِلَّا كَالشَّامَةِ فِي ظَهْرِ الْبَعِيرِ أَوْ كَالرَّقْمَةِ فِي ذِرَاعِ الدَّابَّةِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «اعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ مَعَ خَلِيقَتَيْنِ لَمْ يَكُونُوا فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَّا كَثَّرَتَاهُ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ مَعَ مَنْ هَلَكَ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِبْلِيسَ»

✧ This verse was revealed: “O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing,” while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. Some of the people were dozing and some had dispersed, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his voice reciting it, and they gathered around the Prophet ﷺ, saying the Hour had come. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it and said, “Do you know which day that is?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “That is when Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, says to Adam: ‘Arise, O Adam, and send forth the delegation of the Fire.’ He says, ‘What is the delegation of the Fire?’ He says, ‘Send forth from every thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to Paradise.’” The people were struck silent, none of them showing even a tooth. He then said, “Work and rejoice, for you are among mankind but like a black mark on a camel’s back, or like a spot on a beast’s foreleg.” Then he said, “Know that you are alongside two creations that never enter anything without multiplying it: Yaʾjuj and Maʾjuj, along with those of the children of Iblis who perished.”
