حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ نَصْرٍ التِّرْمِذِيُّ ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ صُحَارِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُهَيْنَةَ بْنِ قُضَاعَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ حِمْيَرٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ

عَنْ سَبْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ صَاحِبِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ اجْتَمَعَ عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ أَفْنَاءِ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ لَيُحَدِّثُ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ بِمَكْرُمَةِ قَوْمِهِ وَمَا كَانَ فِيهِمْ مِنْ فَضْلٍ فَحَدَّثَ الْقَوْمُ حَتَّى انْتَهَى الْحَدِيثُ إِلَى فَتًى مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ فَحَدَّثَ بِحَدِيثٍ عَجَزَ عَنْ تَمَامِهِ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ فَقَالَ حَدِّثْ يَا أَخَا جُهَيْنَةَ بِفِيكَ كُلِّهِ فَأَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «جُهَيْنَةُ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ غَضِبُوا لِغَضَبِي وَرَضُوا لِرِضَائِي أَغْضَبُ لِغَضَبِهِمْ وَأَرْضَى لِرِضَاهُمْ مَنْ أَغْضَبَهُمْ فَقَدْ أَغْضَبَنِي وَمَنْ أَغْضَبَنِي فَقَدْ أَغْضَبَ اللهَ» فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ كَذَبْتَ إِنَّمَا جَاءَ الْحَدِيثُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ فَقَالَ

✧ From Sabrah b. Ma'bad, the Companion of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: A group of people from the common folk gathered with Mu'awiyah. He said, 'Let each man among you narrate a noble deed of his people and what virtue was among them.' The people narrated until the narration reached a young man from Juhaynah, and he narrated a narration but was unable to complete it. 'Imran b. al-Husayn turned to him and said, 'Speak, O brother of Juhaynah, with your mouth entirely, and I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Juhaynah are from me and I am from them. They became angry for my anger and pleased for my pleasure. I become angry for their anger and pleased for their pleasure. Whoever angers them has angered me, and whoever angers me has angered Allah."' Mu'awiyah b. Abi Sufyan said, 'You have lied. The narration only came concerning Quraysh.' He said...
