حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ أَنَّ رَبِيعَةَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ قَرَظَةَ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خِيَارُكُمْ وَخِيَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَشِرَارُكُمْ وَشِرَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُبْغِضُونَهُمْ وَيُبْغِضُونَكُمْ وَتَلْعَنُونَهُمْ وَيَلْعَنُونَكُمْ» قَالُوا أَفَلَا نُنَابِذُهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «لَا مَا أَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ الْخَمْسَ إِلَّا مَنْ وَلِيَهُ وَالٍ فَرَآهُ يَأْتِي شَيْئًا مِنْ مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ فَلْيَكْرَهْ مَا أَتَى مِنْ مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ أَلَا وَلَا تَنْزِعُوا يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَةٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The best of you and the best of your leaders are those whom you love and who love you, and upon whom you invoke blessings and who invoke blessings upon you. The worst of you and the worst of your leaders are those whom you hate and who hate you, and whom you curse and who curse you.” They said: Should we not then oppose them, O Messenger of Allah? He said: “No, as long as they establish the five prayers. Indeed, if someone is appointed a ruler over a man and sees him commit something of disobedience to Allah, let him hate what he does of disobedience to Allah. Indeed, do not withdraw your hand from obedience.”
