حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لِأُكَلِّمَهُ فِي أُسَارَى بَدْرٍ فَقَالَ «لَوْ أَتَانَا فِيهِمْ شَفَّعْنَاهُ» يَعْنِي أَبَاهُ الْمُطْعِمَ بْنَ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ هُشَيْمٌ «وَكَانَتْ لَهُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَدٌ»

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to speak to him about the captives of Badr, and he said: “If he had come to us regarding them, we would have granted his intercession,” meaning his father al-Mut'im b. 'Adiyy. Hushaym said: “He had a favor owed to him by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”
