حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَة ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَبِيبٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى قَتْلَى أُحُدٍ بَعْدَ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ كَالْمُوَدِّعِ الْأَحْيَاءَ وَالْأَمْوَاتَ ثُمَّ طَلَعَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَقَالَ «إِنِّي بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمٍ فَرَطٌ وَإِنِّي عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدٌ وَإِنَّ مَوْعِدَكُمْ الْحَوْضُ وَإِنِّي لَأَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ وَأَنَا فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا وَإِنِّي لَسْتُ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ أنْ تُشْرِكُوا وَلَكِنِّي أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الدُّنْيَا أَنْ تَنَافَسُوهَا» قَالَ عُقْبَةَ فَكَانَتْ آخِرَ نَظْرَةٍ نَظَرْتُهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَحَدُهُمَا نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ صَاحِبِهِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ بَعْدَ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered funeral prayers for the martyrs of Uhud after eight years, as if bidding farewell to the living and the dead. Then he ascended the pulpit and said, "Indeed, I am going ahead of you, and I am a witness over you. Indeed, your meeting place is at the pond (in Paradise), and I am looking at it from this position of mine. Indeed, I am not afraid that you will associate others with Allah, but I am afraid that you will compete with each other for worldly benefits." Ubay ibn Ka'b said, "This was the last gaze I cast at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. One of them directed towards his conversation companion and the other did not mention Al-Laith ibn Sa'd after eight years."
