✧ We were with Ali when Abu Mas‘ud came to him. Ali said to him, “I see that you give legal opinions to the people.” He said, “Indeed I tell them that the last ones are worse.” Ali said, “Tell us what you heard the Prophet ﷺ saying about the hundred.” He said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, ‘A hundred years will not pass over the people while on the earth there is a blinking eye.’” Ali said, “You erred. He only said, ‘For whoever is on the face of the earth on that day – and there is no ease or joy except after the hundred.’”
