حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْحَدَّادُ ثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رَجَاءٍ عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ ضَمْعَجٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ؓ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَؤُمُّ الْقَوْمَ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ لِكِتَابِ اللهِ وَأَقْدَمُهُمْ هِجْرَةُ فَإِنْ كَانُوا سَوَاءً فَأَعْلَمُهُمْ بِالسُّنَّةِ فَإِنْ كَانُوا فِيهَا سَوَاءً فَأَكْبَرُهُمْ سِنًّا وَلَا يُؤَمُّ رَجُلٌ فِي سُلْطَانِهِ وَلَا يُجْلَسُ عَلَى تَكْرِمَتِهِ فِي بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "The one who should lead a people in prayer is the best reciter of the Book of God among them and the earliest of them in emigration; if they are equal, then the most knowledgeable of them in the Sunnah; if they are equal in it, then the eldest of them. No one should lead in another man's domain of authority, and no one should sit on his place of honor in his house except with his permission."
