حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ
يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ لِغُلَامٍ لَهُ لَحَّامٍ اصْنَعْ لِي طَعَامًا يَكْفِي خَمْسَةً فَإِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْجُوعَ فَصَنَعَ لَهُ طَعَامًا ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَجُلسائِهِ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا قَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ تَبِعَهُمْ رَجُلٌ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُمْ حِينَ دَعَوْهُ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَوْا إِلَى الْبَابِ قَالَ لِصَاحِبِ الْمَنْزِلِ «إنَّهُ قَدْ تَبِعَنِي رَجُلٌ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ حِينَ دَعَوْتَنَا فَإِنْ أَذِنْتَ لَهُ دَخَلَ» فَقَالَ قَدْ أَذِنَّا لَهُ فَلْيَدْخُلْ

✧ A man called Abu Shuʿayb said to a slave of his who was a butcher, "Prepare food sufficient for five, for I have seen hunger in the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He prepared food for him, then sent to the Prophet ﷺ and his companions who were with him. When the Prophet ﷺ stood up, a man who had not been with them when he invited them followed them. When they reached the door, he said to the owner of the house, "A man has followed me who was not present when you invited us. If you permit him, he may enter." He said, "We have permitted him, so let him enter."
