وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ عِصْمَةَ قَالَ
شَرَدَ عَلَيْنَا بَعِيرٌ لِيَتِيمٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَلَمْ نَقْدِرْ عَلَى أَخْذِهِ فَجِئْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَامَ مَعَنَا حَتَّى جِئْنَا الْحَائِطَ الَّذِي فِيهِ الْبَعِيرُ فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْبَعِيرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَقْبَلَ حَتَّى سَجَدَ لَهُ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَوْ أَمَرْتَنَا أَنْ نَسْجُدَ لَكَ كَمَا يُسْجَدُ لِلْمُلُوكِ قَالَ «لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ فِي أُمَّتِي لَوْ كُنْتُ فَاعِلًا لَأَمَرْتُ النِّسَاءَ أَنْ يَسْجُدْنَ لِأَزْوَاجِهِنَّ»
Translation

✧ A camel belonging to an orphan of the Ansar ran away from us, and we could not catch it. We came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and mentioned that to him. He got up with us until we came to the garden where the camel was. When the camel saw the Messenger of God ﷺ, it came forward and prostrated to him. We said, “O Messenger of God, if only you would command us to prostrate to you as kings are prostrated to.” He said, “That is not for my community. If I were to do such a thing, I would command women to prostrate to their husbands.”
