حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ جَابِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ مُجَمِّعِ بْنِ عَتَّابِ بْنِ شُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ لِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا وَإِخْوَةً فَأَذْهَبُ إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ أَنْ يُسْلِمُوا فَآتِيَكَ بِهِمْ قَالَ «إنْ هُمْ أَسْلَمُوا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ وَإِنْ هُمْ أَقَامُوا فَالْإِسْلَامُ وَاسِعٌ عَرِيضٌ»

✧ I said to the Prophet ﷺ: “I have an elderly father and brothers, so I will go to them hoping that they may become Muslims and I will bring them to you.” He said: “If they become Muslims, it is better for them, but if they remain, Islam is vast and wide.”
