✧ That a man from Hadramaut and Imru' al-Qays ibn 'Aabis had a dispute over land, so they came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked the man from Hadramaut for evidence, but he had no evidence. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled in favor of Imru' al-Qays ibn 'Aabis by taking an oath. The man from Hadramaut said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have made him victorious by taking an oath, and by Allah, he has taken my land." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever takes a false oath in order to illegally take the wealth of a Muslim, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called Imru' al-Qays ibn 'Aabis and recited this verse to him. Imru' al-Qays said, "O Messenger of Allah, for whom did he leave it?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Paradise." Imru' al-Qays said, "Then I bear witness that I have left it."
