حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ؓ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اتَّقُوا النَّارَ ثُمَّ أعْرَضَ وأشَاحَ حَتَّى ظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا» ثُمَّ قَالَ «اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَو بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ وَلَوْ بِكَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Guard against the Fire.” Then he turned away and averted his face until we thought he was looking at it. Then he said: “Guard against the Fire, even with half a date, even with a good word.”
