حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السَّقَطِيُّ وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ قَالَا ثَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا عَدِيَّ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا خَرَجَتِ الظَّعِينَةُ مِنْ قُصُورِ الْيَمَنِ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَ الْحِيرَةَ لَا تَخَافُ إِلَّا اللهَ وَالذِّئْبَ عَلَى غَنَمِهَا؟ قُلْتُ وَلِي طَيٌّ ومَقاتِبُها وَرِجَالُهَا قَالَ إِذًا يَكْفِيهَا اللهُ وَمَا سِوَاهَا

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “O ʿAdī b. Ḥātim, how will you be when a woman in a litter travels from the castles of Yemen until she reaches al-Ḥīrah, fearing nothing but God, and [fearing] the wolf for her sheep?” I said: “Ṭayy’ has its fighters and its men.” He said: “Then God will suffice her, and what is other than her.”
