✧ A letter from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us: 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, to 'Umayr Dhu Murran and whoever accepts Islam from Hamdan. Peace be upon you. I praise Allah to you, besides whom there is no deity. Now then, your acceptance of Islam reached us upon our arrival from the land of the Romans. So rejoice, for Allah has guided you with His guidance. If you bear witness that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish prayer, and give zakat, then you have the protection of Allah and the protection of His Messenger over your blood, your wealth, and the land of Alyun upon which you accepted Islam, its plains, mountains, springs, and pastures, without being wronged or restricted. For charity is not lawful for Muhammad nor for his household. Malik b. Murara al-Rahawi has guarded the unseen, fulfilled the trust, and conveyed the message. I command you, O Dhu Murran, to treat him well, for he is regarded with respect among his people, and may your Lord love you.'
